The Wedge
The Wedge was developed in Upper Sea Point, on a difficult piece of land, because it was, yes, in the shape of a wedge.
This necessitated difficult and expensive engineering, something in today's steel prices we probably would not
have been able to undertake. The development consists of 7 apartments, with one apartment on the ground
floor and 2 per floor thereafter. The unique aspect of this development was because the site was so
steep we were able to put swimming pools on every level, and then put two magnificent penthouse pools on
the top deck, so the sea facing penthouse apartment has a unique rim-flow pool with the aspect of it flowing
into the Atlantic over Sea Point CBD.
The Wedge finishes were all carefully chosen to fit in with the nature of this up-market development,
with 600X600 porcelain tiles, floor to ceiling in the bathrooms, frameless shower doors, stone-form tops
on all vanities and kitchens and spayed mahogany wood cabinetry.
This development left a new benchmark for Upper Sea Point, which had historically had been seen as
the poor relation of its rick neighbours. This is definitely now not the case and recent re-sales show
that the off-plan buyers have made 50% return on their capital within 18 months of occupation of their units.
